This 21-disc box set includes 20 classic Laurel & Hardy films and various shorts, plus a bonus disc containing the original version of Brats (1930), extracts from the German version of Pardon Us (1931), Thundering Fleas (1926), Fluttering Hearts (1927), Prudence (1927) and the documentary Laurel & Hardy - A Tribute to the Boys(1991).
Universal Pictures Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of a groundbreaking twenty-volume definitive Laurel & Hardy Collection that will debut on 3rd May 2004. All twenty parts will be available to buy separately (£15.99 RRP each) or as one entire collection (£199.99 RRP), with the majority of features and shorts restored and, with most of the sound films, offering alternative colour versions to complement those in black and white. Those who purchase the entire twenty-volume Laurel & Hardy Collection will also receive a special bonus disc not available separately. Most of the films, in particular the foreign-language versions with L&H speaking their own dialogue, have never been available on DVD before in the UK.Material for each DVD in this Universal Pictures collection has been carefully selected to reflect a theme in their work by the UK’s leading Laurel & Hardy expert, Glenn Mitchell.
