Hey all,Finally getting around to putting up some thoughts on the ones I've watched over the past few weeks.-Running Out of Time 2The movie was basically a re-hash of the first. The thief (Ekin Cheng) does not have a terminal disease this time around. The thief leads Sang (Lau Ching Wan) all over the city in the chase. The basics: High dollar art items are stolen by the thief. The firm owning the items is told that the ransom will be $20million I think. Thru the engineering of the thief, Sang gets involved. (sound familiar?) The rest of the movie is mostly Sang trying to figure stuff out or chasing the thief.
Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining. There are some comedic moments here and there that are worth it alone IMO. (A good majority of them centering around the bumbling Asst. Chief Wong Kai Fa.
I liked the bicycle scene also.)Conclusion: Not as good as the original, but a decent film for the price. 6.5/10-The Blacksheep AffairDefinitely an action film. Basics= Good guy gets transferred to foreign country (Lithuania maybe?), he is attached to the Chinese Embassy there where he meets up with his old buddy. Eventually runs into his old girlfriend (Shu Qi) who fled China after Tiananmen Square incident.
I think where this movie stands out will be found only in the fight scenes. I was fairly impressed. The good guy has great abilities. Typical stereotyping of caucasians. Bad guy is the leader of a Japanese cult that was responsible for the gas attacks.Conclusion: Not a deep storyline by any means, I would recommend watching this for the fight scenes if nothing else. 6.5/10-RunawayFrom director Dante Lam who also did Jiang Hu: The Triad Zone, Beast Cops, Hit Team, and G4 Option Zero. Jiang Hu and Beast Cops are both 8/10 in my book.Basics: Two crooks working for a Triad gang one day play a trick on a rival gangs boss making him lose a large sum of money gambling.
They try to play it off, but their own boss believes they did it. The two crooks decide to leave to avoid the wrath of their boss. Destination= Thailand, where it's girls and party all the time. (or so they think) They quickly run into all sorts of trouble. (Thai gangsters for starters) I don't want to spoil it. Anthony Wong plays the rival boss who ends up coming to Thailand to see his girlfriend. This movie is full of satire and regular humor.
Several cheats and double-cheats make it interesting/entertaining. (You will crack up when you see Wong strutting down the street in his newly purchased outfit.)Conclusion: Recommended movie. Especially if you've seen and liked Jiang Hu. Runaway has more satire/humor though.
7.5/10-Enter the Eagles -aka And Now You're DeadBasics: Pro thief Marty (Michael Wong) gets contracted to steal the largest diamond in the Czech Republic. He enlists an old partner/friend along the way to provide some more muscle/guns, Mandy (played by Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter). She looks very good on screen, especially for not having much martial art training. Jordan Chan and Anita Yuen also play in the film as two pickpockets who stumble onto Marty's plan of stealing the diamond. (Jordan is always likeable IMO) The pickpockets try to join Marty's team, but end up in competition for the diamond. Lots of good action, explosions, doublecrosses, etc. Fill this movie (final fight scene is on a blimp!).

Yes, the movie is overly filled with cliches at times. But, if you can ignore that and ignore the poor acting skills of Benny Urquidez then I think you may find that this is a quite enjoyable film. I think half the script is in English.Conclusion: It's Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon Lee! She's cute, and she kicks butt! I need to start putting these up as I watch them! Both are great films and nice presentations from China. Just no extras, but those are hardly subtitled from Korea, so I will probably stick with these versions.
