Windows 10 Can T Type In Search
If I bring up the search bar, by right-clicking on the Windows Logo Icon within the taskbar. Then select search. Stan and ollie. I'm unable to type anything into the search box. However, I can type into notepad, copy that text and past it into the search bar. This also works for other Windows 10 built-in apps, for which typing text is required.

Fresh install of Windows. Did the updates.
After the last updates and a restart, now all of a sudden I can't type in the Search field anymore, and I also can't type in the address bar in Internet explorer.But I can type if I create a notepad, and I can type if I open the notepad inside. I can also type my password when my computer starts.So what gives? What can I do here?p.s I already did a restart. Didn't fix it. Go to device manager and see if you got any problems with any of your usb devices I know it sounds strange but I have just fixed this problem on my pc see if you got any driver issues with your usb devices uninstall it and unplug it from your pc mine was a pc game controller and now I can type in the search boxes.

How many people here get a subscription to EE and don't already know to reboot the PC. It's well past that.wolf: the search indexes being broken would stop results from appearing, it wouldn't stop the text from appearing in the first place.Brain123422: I'll try that, thanks. It's a fairly fresh install of Windows 10, and was a new profile (though not a new user) 6 weeks ago. Wolfcamel: I did this and it made no difference.I seem to be having all sorts of search issues. Now I can get SOME results, but NONE of my programs.
This is the same in another profile.When I search I see a box (Both profiles) Which states 'these results may be incomplete'.I even killed the search services in services,msc and moved the search data folder to a tempoary location and rebooted, reenabled the services, and waited for the rebuild. STILL nothing from my start menu or any apps on my computer show up.
