Mar 17, 2013  Update: Only conflicts with Skyrim.esm, Dawnguard.esm and Dragonborn.esm. Works out really well. It is a bit awkward though, that as soon as you catch a disease like rockjoint whilst fighting with wolves, you get the idea: 'I think I have contracted Rockjoint.' Just spawn a bunch of vampire fledglings and wait for them to give you Sanguinare Vampiris (you'll wanna spawn yourself a bunch of HP pots so you don't die.) Then after you get the disease kill them. Then wait 3 days when you can. TTYM - Think To Yourself Messages. Are you all about immersion mods? Do you like everything to draw you deeper into the world of Skyrim? Would you just rather have less of that third-person narrator feeling in the game? If any of these apply to you, Think To Yourself Messages will dramatically improve your experience!

Ok, well, obligatory disclaimers first:Everyone should be able to just play the way they want to play. We can all derive utility from the product we purchase in our own individual ways without courting censure. If you want to cheat yourself a full set of Daedric armour right off the bat and then go around feeling badass, well, ok, sure. But of course, if you then go around saying 'lol skyrim is so easy no challenge i'm so good at it' then we'll laugh your ass into Oblivion. And if you want to immerse yourself as much as possible and walk everywhere, play Frostfall, do whatever else - that is also A-OK and awesome. But practically speaking, there is no scarcity in the game. There is an infinite supply of gold, readily obtainable by you, in the game world. Mines never run out, crops are inexhaustible, and no matter how much you steal no one ever goes bankrupt or becomes homeless as a result of your crimes. So, right from the beginning with the vanilla start, you can just work all day long at Gerdur's mill in Riverwood, or go to Whiterun and do the same for Hulda.

You make approximately 200 gold for each in-game hour, chopping wood. Technically it may be cheating but you raise a good point. When I'm making stacks and stacks of arrows, the worst bit is definitely the wood chopping. That's not skill based. It's not a challenge, except in staying awake. As you said, real minutes are ticking. I am so often a purist when I game, eschewing godmode features even when I could argue that I deserve it.

But after the 1000th time of sitting through that animation, I feel more than justified in spawning it straight into my bags. Why waste real playtime on something so mundane?. Ah, but that logic never works for me.

I feel guilty about it. One time I tried doing it, to make it more immersive I deleted all the stacks of wood in Riverwood and then gave myself the money for what they would have sold for. Or I could just give myself tons of firewood, wait a couple hours for how long chopping would take and sell it.

It doesn't matter what I do, it feels like cheating. It sucks that I can't be happy unless I play the game as vanilla as possible (except for realism mods). I've said it in a different thread, but every build can benefit from a little archery. At least the melee focused builds, since mages have many more long range tools. I always have my warriors dabble in archery just enough to deal some ok damage to dragons who refuse to land when I don't have dragonrend, and to deal some damage to harder enemies before they can close in.

It's such a valuable skill. You just have to limit yourself if you don't wanna fall into the oh so easy Stealth Archer rut.
